She’s the First seeks a talented Video Production Intern to join our remote team for the Fall 2021 semester. As the Video Production Intern, you will play a key role in making sure girls’ voices are respected and heard. Not only will your content be visible to thousands of supporters on our social media channels and website, but it will be re-shared by influencers who support our cause, too! This is the perfect internship for anyone who wants to create a better world for girls worldwide.
She’s the First videos range from short clips for social media to 1-4 minute videos that are widely screened at virtual and in-person events. The video pieces you work on this semester will be a pivotal part of our International Day of the Girl advocacy, virtual fall gala, and holiday fundraising campaigns. We’re looking for someone who loves to tell an impactful story, but also understands that every step in the filmmaking workflow is important.
This is a part-time (~20 hours/week) internship with a $1,000 stipend. The internship will run for 12 weeks with the possibility of extension into the next internship season. The candidate must be available to work remotely, with some overlap with Eastern Standard Time.
Responsibilities
- Learn the video creative process with hands-on experience
- Participate in video brainstorms
- Write treatments for video concepts
- Create storyboards and mood boards for video pitches
- Research video trends, influencers, and best practices
- Develop ideas for new video formats and editorial video series concepts • Transcribe interviews and log footage
- Produce videos via non-linear editing from a script
- Reimagine completed projects as vertical videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok
- Create properly formatted closed-caption files for completed projects
Ideal Qualifications:
- Experience in video editing and working in Adobe Premiere Pro. Experience in Adobe After Effects is a plus.
- Passion for furthering experience in Film/Video, Media Production, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Digital Media
- Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and organized
- Interest or experience with copywriting or social media programming is a plus • You’re comfortable using Asana or other project management tools
- A keen eye for creative video storytelling
- Ability to balance multiple projects
- Efficient at transcribing and captioning videos
