Opportunities

Recent trends in education, the arts, and the professional world favor those who recognize emerging opportunities and adapt their skills accordingly. IMM encourages students to keep their eyes open and to embrace the notion of constant learning, always exploring new ideas and acquiring new skills.

Internships

Starting in their junior year, IMM students are encouraged to develop their skills and build professional connections through for-credit internships that count as in-major options courses (IMM 399). IMM maintains its own list of internships and also works closely with the TCNJ Career Services office to connect students with opportunities of interest. Our students have worked for both large companies and small studios on video and animation projects, web and application development, online writing and marketing, music production, and other areas. Recent IMM internships include Sesame Workshop, Goldman Sachs, NPR, NBCUniversal, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Princeton Partners, Panasonic, Critical Response Group, National Sawdust, Splashworks, NJM Insurance Group, MTV Networks, NFL Films, and the American Museum of Natural History. Please visit this page for more information featuring our student interns.

Consistent with TCNJ policy, 200 hours on the job equates to one full (1 unit) course in the major. More information about the internship policy is available here.
