Trenton Makes Music Highlighted in Local News

Trenton Makes Music is a project that began in the Fall of 2014 as a class. Two TCNJ faculty run the project: Kim Pearson, Associate Professor in Journalism and Professional Writing is the director, and Teresa Marrin Nakra, Associate Professor in Music and Interactive Multimedia Departments is co-director. The goal of Trenton Makes Music is to document the stories of the people, places and policies that made Trenton a hidden treasure of the music world. In 2015, they were awarded a grant by New Jersey Council of the Humanities which allowed for a podcast series. interactive map, and public programs that are currently taking place. The two upcoming shows are: Trenton Makes Music 3: School of Pop on November 16, 2016 from 7-9 pm at Mayo Concert Hall, The College of New Jersey, and Trenton Makes Music 4: Where Do We Go From Here? On November 18, 2016 from 12:30-1:30pm at Mayo Concert Hall, The College of New Jersey. There were two previous performances: Trenton Makes Music 1: Classical and Sacred Traditions on September 21, 2016, and Trenton Makes Music 2: Blues and Jazz on October 12, 2016.
