Forms and Documentation

Below are some useful forms for adjusting or adding the IMM and GD programs of study. For additional forms, please see the Office of Records & Registration Form website.

Change of Major Form

Every major program at the College has set standards that allow students to transfer within the College from one program to another.

The following are the standards for Interactive Multimedia.

Entrance into the program from another program [internally transferring] within the College is based on the following performance standards:

  1. a passing grade of at least B in any one of the 100-level foundation courses (IMM 110, IMM 120, IMM 130, or IMM 140)
  2. an interview with the Department Chair or designee as per the College’s change of major policy, to be evaluated based on the
    following criteria:
    • demonstration of media production skills or other outcomes from IMM courses
    • clarity of future goals, citing curricular or co-curricular experiences
    • self-reflection on the design and development process, describing what was learned in creating specific projects
    • establishment of a good fit between the student’s learning goals and the IMM curriculum

Please reach out directly to dct@tcnj.edu to schedule a discussion with a faculty member about the IMM change of major policy and for further instructions on registering for IMM 100-level courses and adding the IMM Pre-Major. IMM entrance interviews are held in January and June, after the previous semester’s grades are posted.

The following are the standards for Visual Arts with a Specialization in Graphic Design:

A portfolio is required for all Graphic Design internal transfers.  Please reach out to the department at DCT@tcnj.edu for a link to the Google Form and to officially submit your portfolio for review and with any questions about the transfer process.

Required Signatures: Student, Department Chair

Add/Remove a Minor Form

Minors in the department of Design and Creative Technology (DCT) allows students to apply ideas and skills to a wide range of other disciplines on campus, and also to bring relevant ideas and issues from their major disciplines into DCT courses, to the benefit of their classmates. As minors in Graphic Design, Interactive Multimedia and Music Technology have become increasingly popular, students are advised to officially declare their minor early (with 4+ semesters to complete courses) to ensure successful completion in time for graduation. Students may still apply to the minor with fewer semesters remaining for graduation); however, they should check with the department for further advising on successfully completing this minor within limited semesters.
