Hi! My name is Evan Zodl and I am a Front End Developer at WorkWave. I am currently a senior at The College of New Jersey and I will be graduating in May with a double major in Computer Science and Interactive Multimedia. My academic interests include web design/development, software engineering, and UI/UX design. Most of my free time is spent surfing, designing origami, and building my personal brand. I have been surfing year-round in New Jersey for over six years, and my passion for the ocean has led to my recent interest in surf photography. In an effort to share my passion for origami with the world, I started my “EZ Origami” YouTube channel in 2008. Since that time, I have developed a following of over 84,000 people and my instructional videos have been viewed over 28.9 million times!
Thesis Project: FoldFeed
FoldFeed is a comprehensive online go-to resource for origami enthusiasts of all experience levels. It is a social network intended to meet the specific needs of the worldwide origami community. FoldFeed will begin as a web application and eventually be ported to iOS and Android to allow quick and easy access for all users. Currently, origami artists post their work on a variety of social platforms ranging from Facebook to YouTube to Flickr. In an effort to streamline this process and share knowledge, FoldFeed intends to collect this information from its users to develop a comprehensive, searchable, and interactive origami database.
