My name is Jamie Fonzino, and I am a coffee connoisseur, book lover, movie enthusiast, and existential thinker, who is fluent in sarcasm and dark humor. But, for all the intents and purposes of professionalism, I am a designer, short and simple.
What kind of designer, you ask? Well, with an education in both interactive multimedia and graphic design, I have studied and used design in both the physical and digital worlds. Everything that people do involves the use of design, and my creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and technical know-how work together to dream up new ideas and bring them to life.
Designing, is a process, one that sometimes requires taking steps back in order to leap forward, and I happily welcome any challenge with open arms, as I am always eager to learn, grow, and become the best version of myself.
Thesis Project: More than Numbers: The Data-Driven Story of America’s Heroes
With technology today, people are constantly bombarded with copious amounts of information. In order for people to easily absorb this information, it needs to be presented in a way that is simple, engaging, and visually appealing. Data visualization is becoming more important, as attention spans are decreasing but the need to consume information is ever increasing. So, how can I use numbers and statistics as a medium for art? For this project, I am going to extract information about veterans and military personnel in the United States and present that data in the form of physically printed out, graphically designed compositions that have an augmented reality component.
