Culture and Technology

Courses in this area of study explore the impact of interactive technologies and digital media on our everyday experiences in contemporary culture. They consider the potential for design processes and designed products to support and empower communities through cultural expression, education, and economic development. They address important issues such as ethics, social justice, the cultural construction of media, and its power to shape society. Furthermore, these courses trace the history of technology and media, examining the people, processes, and innovations that contributed to the tools we use in IMM today.
