Music Technology

Music Technology is a growing interdisciplinary field that encompasses interrelated practices including electronic music, composition for media, sound design, studio recording, audio production, podcasting, interactive music systems, instrument design, musical data analysis, and signal processing. At TCNJ, Music Technology bridges the Departments of Interactive Multimedia and Music in our innovative School of the Arts and Communication. Students interested in the Music Tech area participate in a range of courses, mini courses, extracurricular activities, open studio sessions, internships, independent study projects, and live performances. Access to the Sarnoff Collection on campus brings students into direct contact with original artifacts from the RCA Corporation and its important developments in the history of recorded sound. Graduates have gone on to graduate study at prestigious programs and successful careers as film & game composers and studio recording engineers.
