Early-Career Digital Journalist, the Nonzero Foundation

The Nonzero Foundation is looking for an early-career digital journalist to do: research; writing; and various tasks related to the production, editing, and promotion of audio/video podcasts.

The job would involve working closely with author Robert Wright, who publishes the Nonzero Newsletter (circulation 21,000), runs the and video and podcast platforms, and hosts The Wright Show. The job can involve anywhere from 20 to 40 hours of work per week and starts at $18 per hour, with a raise possible after a three-month performance review. An ideal candidate will have (1) strong writing skills and a strong interest in creatively editing and promoting video clips from podcast conversations; (2) a strong interest in subject areas covered in the newsletter, notably including those that are part of the newsletter’s “Apocalypse Aversion Project,” which range from the cognitive biases that constitute the “psychology of tribalism” to various technology-related threats to the planet; (3) an entrepreneurial spirit, in the sense of wanting to help turn a small operation into a bigger one that can have an increasingly large impact on the world.

To apply, email us at Explain why you want the job and what makes you well suited to it. Please include a resume.
